Mods and Warranty
Does anyone know what affect the different mods that are discussed on this forum has on the dealer warranty? I am a little nervous to do anything that could void the warranty.
Thanks in advance,

Cosmetic mods are mostly safe. Performance mods are what you have to worry about. Some dealerships will give you a hard time and others are easy to work with. I prefer to play it safe and have only done cosmetic mods.

I lucked out and I have a great HHR Chevy mechanic. I run my mods by my mechanic. After all, he is the one that will have to go to bat for me on any warranty work.
One can easily argue the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act with regard to a modification, but as my lawyer put it too me: Is it worth the time, stress and attorneys fees?

The Magnuson Warranty Act is only as good as the dealer is willing to acknowledge it. I had a very bad experience where even the regional GM rep basically said tough! Wasn't worth it to me to get a lawyer, the BBB takes even more time and even then there's no gaurantee.
The dealer I use now though is very good about all mods.
