More HHR SS spy pics
Just found them on another forum...
Thanks CourthouseDeb!
The grille is more evident here (especially the grille bar) than in previously posted pics.
So it's easy to imagine what the final front end is going to look like.
Of course Chevy might throw everyone a curve and make it look completely different (but I doubt it).
The thing I notice the most in the rear shot is single exhaust. I was hoping the new SS model would have duals.
It still might, but maybe not functional.
Also look how they even covered up the HHR and LT scripts on the back hatch.
I hope they offer more exciting wheels than these 5-spoke. I'm not too impressed with 'em... what do you think?
At least it has what looks like 4-wheel disc brakes.
Thanks CourthouseDeb!

You're welcome...I snagged them off the internet when I was on one of my famous google searches. They are posted here somewhere too I believe...but I haven't found the thread.
I'll take that nice checkered flag bumper.

Hey...
A couple if things....
The pictures display a test mule of a possible SS type HHR. But, if this is the SS and it has a single exhaust, IT IS NOT the 2.0 ltr. 260 HP engine everyone is expecting.
First, the 260 HP GXP and Red Line, DO have dual stainless exhausts. So this might be something else displayed here.
Second, if it is what is expected as the 2.0 ltr, 260 HP it may be detuned for the HHR, especially using a single exhaust. I mean, how do you run dual tubes the length of the car to the rear of the HHR, without major mods to the undercarriage. Isn't this the problem that I and others have mentioned when trying to do "real" dual exhausts, on current models.
Also, even though tape covers what we think is the LT and HHR badges on the rear lift gate, it may cover the new model badges.....like "Rally", for example.

Here's a pic of that test mule before they stuck tape on the rear model badges. So the later badge coverups were prolly for more stealth...

oh one more thing...
If it's not the 260 HP turbo, then the only other motor I could even think of GM putting in the HHR SS would be the 205 HP s/c engine from the Cobalt SS Supercharged. If that's the case, and if Chevy is thinking it's going to compete with the PT Cruiser Turbo, then that choice would suck.
