most over priced automobile

All cars are worth less than the sticker price. Anyone who pays sticker or near sticker is a idiot in the words if DR House.
If you want to by a GM truck you buy it in late Sept or Oct as they have for several years offer a major sale where right off they take $6000 off sticker and you can then get more with the dealing with the sealer. My father in law got $9000 of a well equipt Silverado.
Most of my last few new cars I have averaged $7,000 off sticker.
The key is to learn all you can on the going prices and how much dealers have in a car. Look for Factory insentives and sales that are not part of the dealer price. Also I have a GM Mastercard where I can save $1000 min to up to $2500 with the right offers from GM. THis comes off my final price and I hit them with after we agree on price. THis is GM money and they have no issue with it.
Also use the web in shopping it is a strong tool. Know what you want and know what you want to pay. The pressure of being at the dealer is no placed on you and there are few games. I bought my SS while I was at work. I know what I wanted they gave me a good price and I countered with the price I wanted and they gave it to me. I paid much less than many of the prices I have seen posted here.
Always expect the dealer to make some money but be informed.
Right now I want a Nox but I will wait as they are not coming off much on price. I will wait till they build up on lots in 6 mo to a year.
I see too many people over pay and this is what makes some car not worth what you pay.
Also note I keep most cars 5 year to 10 years on average and keep them in good condition. I usually get top dollar when I sell them. So this makes for a good return too.
My last truck lasted 3 hours before I sold it. I had someone fly from FL to Ohio to buy my SSEI. Taking care of a car can pay.
Note too as GM kills content on the HHR they will low ball the price to build out. THere will be some bargins soon but more limits on what you have to choose from. The Cobalt is also in this phase now.

The HHR is the poster child for overpriced cars. I traded in an Impala and was $6K upside down, and the value on this HHR has dropped like a rock as soon as I drove it out of the showroom. Thank God for gap insurance

I find it interesting that so many worry about the depreciation of their cars. Of course they depreciate. I know, we all want them to be worth as much as possible when we sell or trade them. Usually its hard to know how a vehicle will hold its value until long after your purchase.
That said, never buy new. Put down at least a 20% down payment. And drive until it has at least 150k miles on it.
