MSRP just went up

Looking a chevy site and prices went from $185 to $280 depending on which model. That is some xmas present from Chevy after they raised prices in Oct. (think the prices just went up today) When you choose the model you want, the price is the same as before, but when to go the the next page where you choose the colors, you then see the increase. The accent stripe (4 different ones) now shows on on the option section but the prices are all marked as $0 at this time. would like to see what the stripe looks like.

I see the increase too. The Panel 1LT that I priced and printed in October now has a price higher by one percent.

GM did recently announce accross the board price increases to recoup the added cost of materials. After all, with the tanking of the USD there should be even larger increases. Copper, steel, zinc, plastics etc have recently cost a lot more in US dollars but not so much for Canadians, Europeans and others.

Lots more inflation to come in the USA I'm afraid. The inevitable price to be paid for living beyond ones means.

The price goes up, the discount goes up. They can put a $25,000 sticker price on the car, but I don't pay sticker. The resale value of the HHR isn't the greatest, so purchase price gets discounted 10-20% as well. When sales drop, prices drop and you'll see the TV ads cars for sale at the lowest prices ever.

I have a friend who just picked up an 06 LT2 with 7000 miles on the clock and got it for $14.9K that had an original sticker of $25K.

That '06 must have every option that was available at the time. I see dealers down here advertising '08 HHRs for $13,000. Sure, they have no options but mine only has the roof rails, premium stereo with XM radio, automatic transmission, the HHR floor and cargo mats and it's still a great car. I paid almost the sticker price in '06 so I can't afford to sell mine for quite some time.

I priced my LT2 07 with the options it has last week on an 08 and it was a pretty hefty price--I'm glad now I didn't order the 08 (in the color I wanted) as I wouldn't have half the options Blackie has--heck, even the Smoker's package went up! I also noticed that the BFM color is an extra charge.

Still, my HHR is worth every penny so far...I love my Blackie
