hi....will a normal, full size mountain bike fit in the back cargo area of the HHR? with the front seats folded down of course. my bike has a quick release front tire release, but it be nice if i didnt have to remove it to fit. thnx

I have to take the front tire off. Somebody put a mount in the back so they could fit two bikes by just taking the saddle off, but that was in a panel I think.

Edit: Ignore the last part, my memory sucks.

A Mtn bike will fit in the back with both wheels on laying down.

On a side note, how are you going to drive if you fold the FRONT seats down

okkkk...i meant the rear seats folded down! the coffee hadnt fully kicked in when i typed my question.Thanks for them pics, JX3. Thanks endeavorc. I think i would throw a tarp or rubber matting on the carpeted cargo area so as to keep any grease from staining....and then a black blanket over top the bike as its laying down flat.

I have also managed to fit 3 people and a fully assembled bike on its side with the right rear seat folded down, however the handlebars were in the rear passengers lap. One bad bump and hes a soprano.

I can fit my race bike in UPRIGHT without lowering or taking off the seat post with the front wheel off. and still have tons of room for 3 people and all my race gear.

Where did you get the fork mounts? I think I could configure mine as well to do that, and carry a kid... Or Two!

Mine is a 2 bar setup. Originally was wider (48", I think) in my old van), but had to narrow it for the HHR.
