My 1st test drive.

My 1st test drive.
This morning I picked up an HHR brochure at a local dealership and brought it home to show my wife. She then asked me why I did bring one home to show her. So I went to a different dealership that had a few LTs on the lot.
Very impressed with the vehicle overall considering what it is and what it costs. The seats (cloth) are not as comfortable as the ones in my Grand Prix and I couldn't rest my left arm on the door comfortably because of the lockknob. I'm amazed at how small the quage pod is, on my Grand Prix the speedo alone is 6" across. Radio and HVAC controls will take some getting used to but they seem to work very well and are well layed out. I think I would prefer the window controls to all be located on the drivers door so I don't have to look down to open my window.
The vehicle only had 30 miles on it so I didn't push it too hard but it did accelerate off the line quite well. The sunroof noise was less than my G/P but I found a fair amount of wind noise with all the windows and roof closed.
I don't understand why there are 2 sunroof switches and what is the hole in the roof switch cover for? Do the airbag lights on the center stack stay on all the time? Where is the switch for the foglights located? Are the leather seats more comfortable than the cloth ones?
Styling blows the PP Looser right off the road and I love the wheels on the LT.
Considering the LT lists for around $10,000 less than my Grand Prix I'd say it's a hell of a deal and I'd be happy to own one.

the seats will become more comfortable the more you break them in, but they will hold you in there. i love this car, will probally hold onto it for awhile, and might just get rid of the cavi here in 2 years and get another, hopefully the ss will be out by then

For me it wasn't a choice.
While I would have liked to have the 'sport' ride, as soon as I saw and drove the Spring Edition I was sold.
I did drive one each, 2.2 and 2.4.
2.4 was much nicer plus it also came with the 7-speaker system and the sunroof.
It had all of the options I wanted and the cost was less that if I had added them on seperately.

Hey:
The Fog Light switch is on the dash right side center console under the vent, marked with light symbol. The dash light dimmer is the wheel under the left vent. The airbag light stays on all the time displaying either on or off, depends if anyone over 90 # is sitting in Passenger seat. The little hole behind the switch's is the light for the center console at night, and the switches for the sunroof are one for opening and closing the back side of the sunroof only, or slidding it all the way back and closing with the other switch. I wasn't too fond of the leather seats, first vehicle i've owned with them and am curious to see how they hold up. Most of the ones I've seen will crack and craze when they get old, mostly seen in older Corvettes and Cadillacs. The jury will be out on this for awhile. Mine are very comfortable and the heated seats are really nice in the winter time. My arm doesn't have a problem with the door lock buttons, but the seats do seem somewhat small with the arm rests down, and in use by both front seat occupants.
