My HHR Might Have SAVED My Life

Last night 3 friends and myself were on route 70 here in Florida when a dark wild boar ran in the road. At 65mph I managed to instinctively (i had no way to even think to react, my body just did) hit the brakes and turn the wheel as hard as i could to maneuver around the pig without hitting it. (to anyone who doesn't live in florida, these things aren't tiny little piggies) I am CONVINCED if the stabilitrack and traction control and anti lock brakes were not on my HHR I would have either 1. gone in the canal 2. Hit a tree 3. rolled 4. hit the huge pig 5. worse unknown.

I am thankful for the technology and people who developed it.

My Grand Prix, yes. My autobahn born Saturn Aura yes....but i would have NEVER guessed my beach wagon would have reacted as well as it did

Give yourself some credit for reacting the way you did. Most people would have just stood on the brake pedal.

I have decent driving skills and they were put to the test in my accident. But the Stability Control finished where my skills could not go.

That last 10% of the swerve to miss the stop sign that was ahead of me going off the road was all the car. If I had hit it it could have come through the wind shield.

I love the way these things handle ...and glad you didnt over compensate and end up in the ditches ...people actually have rolled vehicals and drowned in them

Being that no pigs were killed in this incident, we are not able to dub you the "PIG SLAYER".

thanks for all the positive comments. My HHR handled as my other, more sport tuned cars.
The 80 year old that was in the car with me said...."Well, i think i just **** all overmyself & i think i feel a dribble too". We all bust out laughing.
