Need some help, look at your firewalls for me!

I manage a bodyshop and received a rather damaged '11 (automatic), in which the driver's side of the firewall has ripples. Our donor frontend has the same, to cure the owner's concern though I'd like to verify with some of you .

My '08 SS does not, but appears slightly different in that area as well.

So anybody care to pop the hood, examine the firewall behind the driver's side strut tower, please report! Thanks .

Mine is a 2009 and there is not much firewall there that is not covered with holes for wires and some black insulation(or something). From what I can see there are no wrinkles.

A picture of the area in question would be nice to look at.

Firewall Rippling

Hi,

Just checked out my 2010 SS 5spd LSD/Brembo and it is indeed rippled. I have had the car since 3 miles on the odometer, no accidents. If you look close at the photo, you can see where I rubbed my finger through the dust across the ripples. They are very slight and maybe 1/32" in height. To me, they look like part of the forming process of the firewall when it was stamped.

Hmm, see they're formed lines on this '11 and our donor front cut came in with identical lines, however mine and 2 others, along with the one above don't have such.

I'm trying to narrow down to an '11 thing I suppose.

Thanks for the help thus far guys!

My 2010 looks just like Sidecardog's (except mines red). Wrinkled. Feels worse than it looks. This appears to be normal on some.

Joe-
fwiw: I just checked & my '08 2LT has a very slightly rippled area there, can only feel it..To minimal to see.

I agree with Sidecardog, seems to be from the stamping process..

Mine is smooth as a baby's butt. Good thing, I was going to ask for a refund if it was defective.
