Need wiring Information
My 2009 HHR 2 LT was sold without ON Star or auto dimming or compass or mirror lights. "Plain Vanilla". I have aquired a Gentex GNTX-511 mirror with the pigtail and connector. The connector has 5 wires grey,lt.green,blue/white stripe, pink and black. I have figured out what the wires functions are BUT I have no idea where to connect the wires to. The car has a dome light between the sun roof and windshield so I can figure where to connect the lights on the mirror. But for the rest I am at a loss. Is anyone privy to the manuals for the car and can tell me where to look and what to look for. Thanks Loads this web site has allready been a treasure of information.

Thanks
Thanks for nothing. went to the dealer and procured the mirror wiring and the sources of wiring. I'm sorry that I am not a computer guru and can't find everything on the web.

Wtf? It's a shame you praise the site-and then because you didn't get an answer right away-you knock it.
Most people do work during the week and even those that are unemployed at the moment are still trying to get some income during the week-we all can't log onto this site continuously just to see if you need help. Not all of us know the electrical system either. If you really belong to this site you would have had the curtousy to wait until the weekend for a possible response-and if you didn't you could have "bumped" the thread to bring it to the front again. What you did is very uncalled for and you should offer up an apology to all those that belong to this site.
I know you may be frustrated-but what you did was insulting.

Over 65, try the search function next time. A simple search of MIRROR and WIRING pulled up many threads on this issue. This advice is only good of course if you come back on.
Or you could post a service question in the service/repairs forum.
