replaced by GM’s Delta-2 platform vehicle the Chevrolet Cruze a.k.a. the Opel/Saturn Astra
According to the news the saturn/opel division is being sold......so how does that work?

The new GM / Opel thing as of last time it was explained would still use shared plaforms after any deal was struck and woulds still share development.
Ok if Fiat does the take ove rthe debt deal GM would retain a small stake in Opel and would share development cost and platforms. Much like the deal they had with Isuzu.
GM has already done this before with Saab and Alfa in the past with a shared plaform with Opel before GM bought Saab. An Alfa 157 is based on a GM platform shared with Alfa.
As for my statement earlier in this tread on GMPD. Tis was in the most recent Super Chevy news. GM gave a better discription to them than the media got.
In the long run the people who were building these cars will not get them after they are built but while they are being developed.
If Th HHR SS is good now after the GMPD tuned the suspesion just think how it would have been if they had designed it.
This move will pay off in better tuned and developed cars with a little less flash and cost by running a seperrate division.
Either way the division will still be there but they just will not be tuniong production cars as that work is being done at the ground level of development. We will see the show cars and race cars yet they will build at future GM events.
