NEW, General Q's

I've done searches but can't find the answers that I'm looking for, so here goes. How is the reliability of this vehicle? This the only one that gets 30 mpgs and looks good IMO. I drive 84 miles round trip to get to work and my current truck gets 15.3 mpg! Yep that's 120 a week for gas!! Thaks in advance for your help.

I have had no issues with mine mechanically. Was in the shop for one TSB repair covered underwarranty (A/C growl).

I have a brand new 2.4 auto. Car runs excellent and so far all has been well. Careful on the expected MPG. If you are driving lots of highway, you should be ok. All city driving is a totally different story.

You driving the 580, 880, 80?? That stop and go will kill you!

You'll love driving the HHR in that traffic--cute, fun and I've been averaging about 25-30 miles a gallon with stop and go surface street traffic.

(I miss living in the East Bay!)

Welcome to the site. Sounds like you might have a Dodge Ram. 12-14 for me in the winter, but could goes months between fill ups since I am retired. It is now gone and replaced the the 08 HHR only 2 months old.

I've experienced several issues w/ my 06. But that was to be expected w/ any first run production vehicle. I believe that GM has fixed most of these early problems.

There are many '06s without any problems. The most important parts, the drive train seem to be holding up well. Several people on this site are out of warranty already and still love their HHR. What I like the best about it is the options available for no extra cost. You don't get that on most other models.

Welcome to the site. I checked into the reliability of the HHR before buying mine (lurked around this site for a while, plus some extended web searches). What I found is that most trusted sources for vehicle information rated the car good or better for reliability. And in a couple of cases, it was rated higher than average. I've had mine 3 months and just about 5,000 miles and not a single issue, no reason to take it back to the dealership and enjoying every minute I'm behind the wheel.
