New here---towing jet ski??? (don't laugh)

Thanks to all of you for your help/suggestions.
Absolutely no offense taken from any of the posts.
They were all helpful.
I feel a lot better about taking the Jet Ski out now.
I will use caution though.
BTW---my HHR is an automatic.
I do have another issue that may come up and could use some advice:
I ordered a Draw-tite hitch kit from a local shop. I will have it installed next week sometime.
Does anyone know what size ball normally goes with a Class I hitch?
I'm afraid my Jet Ski's trailer fits a 2 inch ball.
I will check tomorrow.
If the ball size that goes with the Class I hitch is 1 7/8" and my trailer
only accepts a 2", is there an adapter that can be installed?
I'm not very trailer savvy.
Thanks,
Pitt

Your local shop can usually put either size ball on your hitch. They are about the same price. When you get into the larger size balls like 2 5/16" you need the 2" square receiver rather than the 1 1/2" for your HHR.
