I've heard the Mazda 5's are nice to drive, but I just couldn't take that silly grin all the time, its like it knows the joke and we don't.

Don't they have a smiley wagon called speed3 ? I have never got close enough to one to see if it's true.

1st... interesting CAI. Normally I dislike those, however, the little piece of metal to duct it from above the radiator interigues me.

2nd... I've test drove a speed 3 twice in the past few months. They are quick. They are lacking in power compared to the SS, however, it's a more linear power band which may make it more usefull. It is nimbler than the SS, but that is because it weights less and is lower (lower center of gravity). The 6 speed trans is nice and feels great. However, the paint from Mazda is horrible, orange peal crazy! The interior felt cheap and the red star burst lines all over made it too cheap japtastic.

Finally, the Mazda 5. YUK mini van I'm not a fan.

Just in time to replace my aging stock filter! If it doesn't come with a gasket to seal it to the bottom of the hood, luckily I have some that I bought when I put a functioning hood scoop on my Cobalt. Rammin!

The hp to dollar ratio is not WORTH it, like, at all. I mean, I bought a JLT Cai for $299.99 for my '11 Mustang GT & I picked up 21 hp & 27 lbs of torque. Dyno numbers showed before & after and that what I gained.

I think the gains would be half that on the HHR SS. Maybe more w/ some tune tweaking.

For almost 400 dollars when including shipping that seems to be way over priced for the gains or if any gains you would get out of it, when the stock air box works just fine.

This ^^, no true dyno figures listed. Price gouging IMHO. With the proper price point, they would sell like hot cakes.
