Welcome to the site, nice deal with that panel, look at Canuck Motorsport lowering springs also , they ride smooth and lower the HHR nicely.

Congrats on the Panel, i had both window and panel at the same time,
loved both but traded the '11 2LT in for at a '15 1LT Camaro in April this year.
Love my '09 Panel 26 mpg on the highway back and forth to work.

mpg was one of the reasons i started looking into these. The PT i had was a really nice little car and pretty loaded up and when i started driving it i really liked the milage over my F350. Well i started tracking it just to see what it was getting and truth be told was only seeing around 18 mpg but i was so use to my trucks i thought that was good lol.

Look on the label on the glovebox door for code AP3. If this is a 2008 there may be a way to do it anyway https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...ion-ap3-28551/

Scroll through the personalization menu in the DIC (see Owner Manual) and activate remote start, Then try Lock, Lock+Panic if you don't have the start button. The Owner Manual has the details.

your remote doesn’t have the remote start, but as Donbrew said, look at the sticker

Hi Dave, welcome.
Yes the AA5 Option SS is actually slightly rarer than the full Panel.
Only199 of them were built vs. the 216 full panels.

Here's mine, for illustration:

Casa THAT is very cool . . . . years ago i had an early 90's Escort GT that was a blast of a car for what it was. I suspect the SS is similar but even more so

been driving this thing around yesterday and today and i gotta say i am gonna have to have an SS some day, maybe not a panel (because of the rarity) but an SS none the less. At my shop at the moment fiddling around with it and just realized something else i like about it . . . no F'ing hood prop rod lol . . .

it really is an enjoyable car to drive, the extra cargo room is going to work out well over the PT . . . . (ok . . . do us HHR guys like PT's? . . . or NOT like PT's? . . .i mean we do share a bit of heritage an all . . lol )

Donbrew thanks for the link . . . as always thanks for the help guys.

i looked at the DIC and it says Remote Start - on. Going to spend some time with that thread later, see if i can sort it out. My remote does not have the start button (six button type) so guessing i need to get one and get it programed . . . tried lock, lock/panic and owners manual said dedicated start button with a pic of the icon.

The problem I have is hiding the dead body when someone calls my HHR a PT Cruiser...
