New member, new owner...

Just got a new HHR last night, and thought I should join the few, the proud, the HHR Network.

The purchasing experience was smooth, although it went ended at 930pm... I would have preferred to leave and come back the next to day to sign papers, but that whole "monthly quota" business was probably on the dealerships mind, so the "forced" me and my wife to drive it home last night :P

We got a Dark Blue 2008 LT, with chrome details. I think we will go back for the protector on the back bumper/tailgate, and running boards. My father has a '51 Chevy 3100 Truck... and I think runningboards are cool as hell.

Anyways, alot of nice info here, and hopefully this is laidback group...

PS... Does the '08 LT come with a swaybar? I believe it comes with the "sport" suspension.. Thanks.

Welcome, you are right about the swaybar with sport suspension. It comes only with the 2LT. I have upgrade it with the addition of the progress anti-sway bar. It seems like it helps handling more.

Congrats!

I have both the running boards and the splash guards. I think they look nice, and they do a good job of minimizing stuff from the road hitting the sides of the car. I added them on after the sale...I strongly suggest you get them too! I have yet to see anyone with both things on their HHR, but I think they are worth it!

Ill probably to do the swaybar and lower grille myself... just an excuse to get my hands dirty.

I've read other places that people have said the splash guards aren't the best at keeping splashes at bay, but since I've gotten them I see hardly any spray toward the back bumper. Granted, I'm in southern California, where it's not exactly like driving in the wilds of a snowbeaten Alaskan ridge, but still. I'm really determined to keep the paint in as good a condition as I possibly can, so I'll take any small step to do so!
