I bet you will too post much. This place is addictive. As is the HHR.
...And, I salute you, for stepping out of more vehicle than you discovered you needed, and stepping into something more fuel efficient. If more Americans would do this, we might be able to reduce our dependance on imported petroleum a little bit.
I'm averaging 24mpg city driving so far in these Indiana winter months, was seeing 27 mpg city during the summer/autumn months. 33mpg on the road, summertime.

I am hoping for high 20's with a 2.2. We were getting 14 highway and 11-12 city with the 5.9. I will admit it was fun putting the pedal down in the beginning, but you soon realize it just cost you $2.00 to merge on the highway. Anyway- that's why I have a GMC Syclone- It's there when I get the need for speed.

Yes, Welcome to the Forum. I to traded my 02 Durango for the HHR with 2.4L engine. Although my Durango was averaging about 17mph, it had the 4.7L engine. With the Durango I was buying about 19 gal. of fuel a week, now with the HHR I buy about 13.5 gal. and that last me approx. a week and a half. I'm averaging about 25.5 mpg, that includes driving over a 2000 ft. mountain twice every week day to work.
