New owner has a question

Hi all,

From the end of September we own a HHR, color black.
Now we find a little bit of a problem!! the gascap is one without a key, so where the car was parked during the working hours, some smart guy had noticed that you can open the gascap door with a push en gascap without a key! so yes that was unlocked to!
So now my question is, is there a gascap with a key that fits onto our car?
Or has someone another bright idea?
Have asked the question to the dealership but they dont now, oh yes forgotten to mention that i liv in Belgium.

Already thanks,
greetings,
Gunter

They are designed to be anti-siphon proof. But these days, if you lock the tank and they want the gas, they will just punch the tank any way...

GM dealerships sell gas caps that lock and won't turn on a CEL. Unless your HHR is made different from the ones sold in the USA, there should be a ball in the neck of the tank that won't allow a hose to be inserted into the gas tank to siphon your gas out.

Thank you for the information.
They are the same like the ones in the US, but i am a bit affrait they put some stuff in the tank that destroys the engine.
Manny people are not US car minded like the green environment boys overhere.
The dealership overhere dont now nothing from another gascap, possibility to get a link where i can buy that in the US please.

greetings,
Gunter

GM doesn't offer a locking gas cap for the HHR.You'd have to try an auto parts store.
