Newbie saying hello

Hi, I'm new to this forum...have an '06 Spring Edition with 2.4 auto and all the options, except the wing. Am planning 18" wheels (suggestions???, want to fit 235/40's underneath if I can), lowering springs, progressive rear bar. Got my HHR last August, wanted my wife to get one, but she opted for an Element (which for a Honda, is OK, just kidding , Honda makes great products.) so I just had to buy one for myself. Sorry, but I'm true blue Chevy guy. From my surfing, this seems like a great site, with lots of useful
information and several comedians.

Welcome! Here is what I am currently running.

18" 8.5"wide with 34mm offset on 234/40/18 tires. Although, I am still at stock height, I have no problems with rubbing issues. I am thinking about one of the shorter drop kits at the moment, but envision some rubbing on the rear fender wall. But if you stay with the stock offset (42mm i think) you may not have a rubbing issue, but get a smaller width rim, say 8" wide.
