Newish HHR

Hey everyone, New here

Just wanted to introduce myself by saying I just got home from the dealership with a brand new... Steering Column. Yes the dreaded Steering Column clunk got me. But here is just the end of a story and the start of another.

I bought the car one month ago, it was Certified Pre-Owned. 2010 Blue HHR LS Automatic. 46k Miles.

Certified my butt.

I have replaced both sun visors myself from gmpartsdirect, the car came with 12% oil life and the day I bought it I forced the dealer to replace the blower fan because it sounded like the wheel on my very first wheelbarrow. Now the Steering column (which fixed the inside and outside rattles amazingly)

Anyways, I am rough on the miles, I travel a lot (which is why I got good mpg+big inside space). The car has 52000 miles on it already.

So long story straight, I am glad it was cheap, and I am glad the car is easily repairable by a moderate skilled garage guy like myself. CPO is a joke btw.

Welcome to the site. My wife's was Certified and it was correct. Oil at 99% I guess it depends on the dealer. I happen to have a very good one.

There is a warrant on the GM CPO. There was a label on the window (Federal Law) telling exactly what the seller is responsible for fixing. You are describing things that should be their responsibility to fix. I know that the GM CPO warranty has been posted here before and I know you can find it on the GM website, once you get past the salesman stuff.

I should have clarified. The Steering Column was replaced under the CPO warranty. I am not upset about the warranty in any way, I am upset that the car was basically turned around from whoever traded it in right to me with little done to it other than a carpet shampoo.

I understand it was cheap, but at the dealership when I was buying it they wanted to charge me extra (over the sticker from the web) to get the CPO tag... which I told them should be included since you advertised it as such.

It just pisses me off that they slap the CPO tag on it but they obviously didn't even give it an oil change before selling it, what else did they miss (visors and steerling column obviously)

I guess it is all about the dealer. I bought mine at Graff Chevrolet in Grand Prairie, Tx. Certified and with an extended warranty (that paid for itself 3 times over). I also had to put two new tires on the front and replace the center vents cause each of them had a broken blade. Got to say the best dealer I have ever dealt with. Got mine with 27K on it 5 1/2 years ago it now has 161K. Still gets around 28-30 mpg. Hope you enjoy yours.

I bought my 08 panel certified pre owned from a Chevy dealer in Oklahoma City and drove it out to California. My local Chevy dealer has been fantastic as far as the warranty. They even replaced the rear bow tie on the back door when it was in for service without me even asking.
