I, too, tested it on the way home. There was no difference between recirculating with the a/c button on and recirculating with the a/c button off. Learned something today!

(It's only 96 today...wish the a/c in the house worked as well as the a/c in the car!)

Yup.

I got my HHR in April, I think we've had one "warm" day (70 degrees i think)since then and i did notice when i had the air on in the cold position (not the a/c) that it was much cooler than the outside. I'd go try it out as well but it has been raining here for 10 days at least, it's 45 degrees and i still need to remote start to warm up the inside in the morning!

Well I belive his claim. I live in Az and have only used the ac a couple of times. Also would suggest you give it a try if you doubt us. I could tell you I took temps and it is true, but would that make anyones claim beliveable? No you would still need to try it before you belived it.

Cool

the HHR turn the ac compresser on an off while you drive to keep the compresser and seals lube so it doesn't fail before its time, could if be the left over compresser from the ac that we are feeling like when you turn you ac on for awhile then turn it off its still cold for awhile then warms up but ours it kicking on and off for most of the time we drive!

You'll have to settle for a "seat of your pants dyno".

If you look back at page #2 of this thread you will see that I did try it on my way home this afternoon and found the claim to be true.
