OEM vs Aftermarket

OEM vs Aftermarket
oh no, another debate starter... well, I hope not, and I'm not asking for opinions, just a quick question, perhaps directed to Chevymgr...
Had a minor fender-bender (r/f quarter banged up) thanks to an oil slick on the NJ Turnpike off-ramp last month. VERY MINOR, especially compared to others on the forum I've seen.
Naturally, the insurance company wants to use aftermarket parts, which I'm against along with the body shop I want to do the work.
So the question becomes, "If I use aftermarket body parts (fender, liner, bumper skin, headlight housing plus unseen damage underneath), will this affect my GM extended warranty"? I think I'm more concerned about fit & finish moreso than performance (heh.. might loose fuel economy because of the misaligned part which didn't fit just right)
counter points as to why I should get OE parts (besides the warranty, they didn't go for that already "because the aftermarket (junk) has its own warranty)"
Thanks folks

early evening, April 31st, north-bound exit 7 on my way to visit my 3-day old grandson. light rain, and didn't notice the rainbow haze on the road until it was too late. Followed the slick all the way to the truck stop entrance. Guard rail didn't even have a mark on it.
Thanks for the info

Just my 2 cents on your repairs! Over the course of the past twenty years most of my vehicles have been purchased new by us and we usually hold on to them for four to five years! Any body repairs needed we have requested factory replacement parts for quality and fit! Our insurance (AAA) has generally sqauked at our request to which I have offered to pay the difference! They have sided with us and given in to our request after a day or two of bickering! Go Factory just for peice of mind and then it's up to the Body Shop to repair the ride to your satisfaction!

Not sure about sheet metal but I am curently doing a 3 Bar for someone and the Grill they sent is not GM ! The area behind the Bow-Tie is different than my Stock GM Grill that I modded ! I am also pretty sure there are non-GM Bumpers being produced also !

Some of it fits well an and some of it fits poorly. The HHR fenders are as hard to hang as any with small door gaps and hood alignment. Poor fitting fenders would be hard to fit.
We hung fenders on my buddys Custlass one made in China and we could never get it right. We went and got a used factory fender and it went right on.
