ok so heres whats new

so some of you may have seen that i was experiencing problems with my hhr not starting lights flashing doors not locking etc. but the biggest is getting stranded and not being able to start..
well my hhr is in the shop now for the 5th time for the same problem.it threw codes every time its gone in and they have not been able to fix it. it has now been in the shop for 8 days straight and 20 days since i owned it. it is only days away from becoming a lemon based on time out of service.

i contacted a lemon law lawyer and submited all my papers and the fact that the car is in the shop now.. they feel without a doubt i have a lemon law case.

so if we settle on i being a lemon im not sure i will let them put me back into another hhr. it sucks i was really into my car i bought the 2" lowering springs ,exhaust, i bought wheels, a dvd player, billet grilles etc. i never even got a chance to install it all except the wheels and the exhaust. i have since sold all of the aftermarket stuff.

i think if i do get my money back im gunna go buy a jeep rubicon unlimited instead!

i hope none of you end up with this experience yourself and wish you all better luck with your hhr's

You definitely got a lemon there, but I wouldn't let that change your mind on getting on something completely different. Sounds like the that one has a bad carputer. I can't imagine lightning striking twice if you just got a new one.

Sorry to hear you've had such problems with your car. Unfortunately...there are lemons no matter what you buy. I've had mine since the beginning of January with no problems. Hopefully you will give the HHR another chance and not let this experience shy you away from this very cool car.

Hi Husky! If you got no joy from reseatingthe fuses...know this; it was discovered in a few early production run HHR's that seat mounting fasteners had punctured part of the wiring harness - causing many electrical problems. This has since been sorted out (by re-routing the harness), but perhaps you got one that had been sitting around a while - or it may have been a recurring problem.

Another problem reported is a stud or pin on the top side of the transmission that was bent over. The bent pin has some type of wiring hooked to it, and being bent over it was periodically grounding out and causing an electrical failure. SYmptoms: driving along fine, then BOOM no power steering, brakes, the speedometer and tach go crazy, and engine acts like it's running out of gas.

Either way, if you still get no joy from re-seating the fuses & relays, print this put and take it to your dealer. I'm betting if they pull the seats out they will find the culprit...or the tranny bolt.

It's worth a look.

Oh, and I like the Rubi Unlimited too - that 4-door is nice. Downside: it won't be available for several months. (You probably need to be driving something until then...) Production is slated for "Summer 2006" - and who know's when they'll hit the sales floor. Your best bet would be to pre-order one, as those orders will be filled first. (Just a tip!)

Cool I wonder???

I wonder if any rep's from Chevy, someone who REALLY has a voice at Chevy, read our threads??? They should, because future buyer read these and man there are a multitude of threads, IMO, that deal with problems that exist with the HHR.
Don't get me wrong, I like mine, but had I discovered chevyhhr.net before my purchase, I don't think I would have one now...

Makes you wonder??

Booksmitty why would you have not bought the HHR if you would have seen this site first? I know there are a few problems but to me it does not seem like there are that many serious problems that would have stopped me from buying this car. I am glad I found this site before purchase becouse then I did know of some of the problems and I knew what to look for. This site also helped me to make sure I got the 2.4,running boards, and flaps. I think most of the people that post love their HHRs and I do not see too many unhappy owners on this site. All car brands are going to have a few lemons that is just the nature of the beast, its too bad Husky has had all his problems but maybe they will get it fixed or he will decide to take a new HHR and hopefully he will be trouble free and end up loving the car. I only have 1500 miles but have not had trouble with anything. Peace Mark HHR

I agree with courthousedeb and am not clear on what booksmitty is reffering to. I find over all this forum has given me more positive re-enforcment on why I bought my HHR and why it is such a great car. Their is not a car maker that can ever say that thier product is without falt. Sometimes one of the greatest problems with new cars, starts and ends with the dealer.

Bought mine in Aug, as of tonight I got 9559 Miles, and I have (knock on my HHR) NOT ONE PROBLEM with my car. I joined the site after buying it, and not knowing a thing about it, just that I liked the look. These are issues that are with any new car, make or model. Either way you go I hope things are better for you.
