The rear hatch needs to open up a little higher for me. I am 6'2" and if I don't duck when loading things into the rear compartment, WHAM, I hit my head on the inside trim panel, thank goodness it's plastic. I've gotten used to it (ducking, not hitting my head ) so it really isn't a problem anymore.
The only other thing that bothers me is the exhaust "resonance" at 2500 to 3000 RPM's, but I am planning on replacing the stock muffler hoping to change the exhaust sound.
I am totally satisfied and happy with my HHR. 20,000 miles in one year proves that!

Being 6'5" myself, this is not an issue. I have had years of practice. It doesn't seem to matter what kind of vehicle, the hatch can't open far enough for me.

And I thought I was the only one here with that concern, glad you replied!

I'd like for it to open from the side. I had a Isuzu Trooper with a rear door like that and I loved it. You could even open the door with a trailer attached.

Is it possible to tell a non-truck driver how to properly set up the mirrors on the HHR? I hate the thought of stick on spots but feel like I need something.

I love my HHR

I love my HHR and yes I look back at her as I am leaving. I got my insurance renewed today and the lady wanted a picture of my car. I told her "Princess is dirty because it rained yesterday" She said "You NAME your car?"
Duh! Doesnt everyone? She thought I was crazy.

I still am not used to the window switches down there but it is not any kind of major problem.
Complaints? I have a loud rattle in the back.

The arm rest problem everyone is complaining about is easily fixed by removing arm rest and putting a screw in the back of adjustment slot to limit travel to where you want it.

Just like any other car/van/suv..........

Simply adjust the side-view mirrors just beyond the point where you could see the side of the car on the inside edge of the mirror. With this setup, you almost completely solve the blind spot problem. To adjust the outside mirrors this way, follow these two steps (This of course, is for vehicles with an inside mirror):

For those times where there is a vehicle present in the other lane that isn’t visible when checking the mirrors, the other vehicle’s position will probably be such that its front is adjacent to your door and you’ll spot it in your peripheral vision as you check the side-view mirror.

I don't like how easy the metal dents and scratches. Thin metal & clear coat in my opinion. Also I'm not sure why they did this but I have rear drums instead of rotors. Would love to of put a set of sloted rotors on all four wheels but I can't. Not unless if anyone knows if I can convert the drums to rotors...
