Opinion after a few days..........
I like the look of the car more and more every day,
However I have the infamous KEY STUCK issue, and I think the warped rotor issue.
I also notice the plastic dash makes "noises" as it shifts around. PLASTIC ON PLASTIC noise
All in all the car is smooth and the pick up is fine. My race car days are far behind me. Besides I have a bike for those times I want a rush of fast air.....It sure does make the Spyder feel like a Ferrari though LOL

Damm. Never bought a car needing so much for so little mileage.
I hope the previous owner did not dump a problem.
1. Key sticks
2. Brakes pulsate slow stops
3. Rattle from steering column going over bumps and a noise in the dash (may be related)
Otherwise I am satisfied LOL
I feel like I bought a new car with the issues I need to go to the Chevy dealer for....I thought all this stuff is fixed on low mileage cars.
We also bought a 2002 Spyder a couple weeks ago with 29K and it has been perfect....

CArfax states one local owner. No issues. I did check it last night.
The issues are common and Im guessing were discovered by the previous owner who decided to trade it on a Chrysler product.
NAh the issues seem to be common issues. You have to remember all my research was on buying a MAtrix or Vibe. I did not even consider the HHR. So I was caught off guard when I saw the car. NOW I research it and find common issues. No problem I have a couple years warranty and 25K miles or so.

Don't feel too bad King Frog. We got ours with 8K mystery miles when we traded or Vibe in for it. Carfax said nothing, but I know something happened that was dealt with as far as the body goes. Just a couple of body parts not quite right. Next time it's a new car.
Now I've had the rotors turned , the ignition/ transmission interlock repaired, a seatbelt replaced and the AC hoses changed ( '06 problem ) under warranty.
I learned about all the TSBs etc in this forum.
I still love our HHR and figure I jut got the growing pains of a first year model.
27k on it now.
Our old Saturn broke in different ways that left us stranded. That was not a good thing.
Welcome to the forum and I hope yur car keeps you smiling. Just get some of the TSB stuff outta the way right off. That may be a way to deal with things. Tell'em your AC growls if you have an '06 and get it done the same day as the ignition. Ours growled intermittently, did not do it for the dealer but they changed the hoses anyway since there is the TSB on it.
The ignition needed to be proven bad at my dealer, and since it too was intermittent, I had to make it break on cue.
I think now since Chevy has changed so many though, your dealer will likely just take our word on it if it does not do its trick for them.
Good luck and stay positive. Nice car with a few teathing pains.
Oh, I found the fourbanger engine running a bit rough lately. Now the AC hoses have been replaced and it runs much smoother. Who knew?

Here is another thread with the info. I believe the TSB # may be posted in the thread. I've seen it somewhere.
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...light=ignition
Search is a cool tool, but we are having so many posts it is hard to narrow things down.
Go get it fixed, so far after the fix, no one has had a reoccurance incident.
