Optima Battery

Optima Battery
I was tired of my p.o.s stock battery dying after 20 minutes of listening to my stereo so I picked up the red-top 75/25 Optima. It fit well as it was almost exactly the same size as the stock battery. Listened to my radio for a couple of hours after installing it and the car started right up. Got it for $105 off hinsonsupercars.com they advertise on a Corvette Forum that I use. The factory would not replace the battery since it would hold a charge and start the car, I was just fed up of not being able to listen to my radio without starting the car since the battery would die so quickly.

I buy Optima's as soon as I have to replace a battery in a vehicle. The longest living one I currently own is a 4 year old Optima in my Explorer. I have left the lights on twice and run it dead, re-charged it both times, and have never had a problem.
It cost me about $170 but I'd have replaced it at least twice by now, so I'm at break even with cheap batteries, and I'm confident it won't let me down. My Explorer sometimes sits for weeks at a time at home without going anywhere, then I'll fire it up, take it to the airport (25 minutes away) and then leave it there for a week. In four years it has never failed to start so that makes the Optima "Priceless".

I made the switch to Optima after the old style Delco Freedom battery in the black case were impossible to find. The oldest one Optima I have now is 5 years old and still fires off like new in very cold weather.
That one replaced a Delco I had that was 18 years old and my other would go 10 years. A record for me. Too bad they don't makem like that anymore.
I also sell Optima and for as many as we send out we get few problems.
Shop the web as some places have a little better prices than others. Just watch Shipping some can snag you there.
