Ordered my 07 six weeks ago-still waiting

You have to KIV that you are at the start of a new model year and there is massive competition with orders from dealers trying to get their new stock in. At the beginning of the model year is the busiest time to order. As the year progresses and stock is built up on lots, delivery time will tend to decrease.

NFboy....
Not sure that is absolutely accurate. There is to many varibles in the Mexico production cycle to give an accurate "order to delivery time".
For example, I didn't have an order date near the introduction...1/30/06. Order was accepted by the Ramos factory on 2/08/06. Vehicle was completed on 2/28/06 and waited for shipment. I won't bore you with the rest of dates and delivery "stops" but, it was not delivered to the dealer until 4/18/06. So, that is just about 11 weeks (I can give you the location of my vehicle, before delivery, and the date of every stop and the reason, if you are interested). There could also be many explanations for this but, I am just offering my opinion.....
What I have been able to determine, on a very limited basis, is the transportation problems in Mexico and the US Customs inspection in the States is a lot of the problem.
But, one thing does have me wondering.....could the Ramos plant be limited in paint facilities/application. I noticed, on another thread, that a lot of vehicles with VIN numbers very close to mine, had "birth days" real close to mine...which makes sense. But I also noticed we had the same color HHR. Could Ramos paint all the white HHR these weeks and all the black ones these weeks, etc. etc.????? And, wait for a specific quantity of a color before painting, which could slow the completion process at the plant.

According to my dealer the demand overpasses the capacity, that's the main reason. I ordered mine on May 22 and got Wednesday last week (8/30), just 14 weeks later. My dealer didn't got anything since April until first and mid of August. Two shipments arrived, the first were red, white and cashmere. On the second one he got black, silver and dark gray.

I didn't order mine...but I can only imagine that waiting for it to arrive is somewhat similar to waiting for a child to arrive. You know it's coming...but not exactly when...but once it arrives, you realize it was worth the wait.
Hopefully you car will be here soon and you can begin your mods and take a bunch of pictures for us to hover over.

2007 HHR order
I just got my HHR Thursday. It took just a little over 8 weeks for me to get it. I was told that it would take 5 to 8 weeks. I picked it up Thursday during Lunch, and at 3:30pm it went to its first College Football tailgate party. Boise State vs. Oregon State

2007 HHR order
Thanks for the welcome to the forum. I've been watching and reading since I decided that I wanted one and ordered it, but I really haven't had the guts to speak out until I got it. I order a 2LT, AT in Silver Metallic with a sunroof. It's pretty plain jane, and I'm not sure what I want to do to it yet. I did get the running boards after reading about the issues here on the forum. I'm glad I did. They are chip sealing our roads, and everyone likes them. People at work are calling it the "Gangster Car". I just about went crazy waiting for it. I've only seen about a half dozen here in Boise, ID. When I was looking, and saw one on the lot, I couldn't help myself. I haven't even let my husband drive it yet, but he did ride in it. Chellie
I will put a photo in once I figure out how to do it...........
