ouch!

Before I tell my story let me just say that everything turned out well. Ok, so I pull up to a stop sign one block from my house yesterday. I mean I could see the street sign where I live. As I look to my left and release the brake to go, bam, I get hit by a 9 year old on a bycycle from the right side. Thank God he was alright after a few minutes and being checked out by the paramedics. I got the first estimate today, it was $1200.00. Bummer!

I'm glad to read that kid is allright? How could a 9 year old on a bike cause $1200.00 worth of damage? What is dented or sratched?

He hit pretty hard, creased and dented the hood in 3 spots. scratched the fender, and gouged the plastic on the bumper.

That sucks but like you said the kid was ok and thats the important part. I guess it's true that most accidents happen within a mile of your house. I totaled my Sunfire like a block from my house. My buddy J totaled his Talon TSI at the corner of his street. My mom was in a four car pile up like three blocks from her house.

He was haulin' azz. He had just come down a big hill and crossed to the wrong side of the road. I think he was going to turn down the road I was coming from and just wasn't paying attention. Once again thank god he was ok. Very scary moment!

I'm sure the weight of the kid and the bike would be close to 100 pounds. I'm sure if that was dropped on a car hood would cause some type of damage. Plus i'm sure the speed of how fast he was going would also play a key factor.
