Well our site changed hands a while back, and in the process we've gained back the momentum that seemed to be fading, plus our membership continues to grow every day.

Our new owners at Internet Brands have been working with us behind the scenes to improve the Search function, the Navbar, the look of the site, and making an App available for portable devices.

Now we're wondering if you the members would be interested in having our own online store for "ChevyHHR.net" branded merchandise?

One of our sister forums(HDForums.com)has allowed us to link to their store so you can see how our proposed store might look, and the kinds of merchandise we could offer for sale.

We would not be limited to just what you see in their store, ours could offer more items like license plate frames, front plates for those in states that don't require front tags or for show use, floor mats, seperate sale decals, and more all branded for our forum.

So instead of making this a poll, we'd like to hear your thoughts here.

Be honest, if you like the idea say so, if you don't say so too. Throw out suggestions for merchandise, pricing, and anything you think we may have forgotten.

You the members make this forum possible, and your interest and passion keep it going, so give this thread a read...give it some thought...and let us know if having an internet store of our own is something you'd like to have.

 

I would conider making store purchases if the goods being sold were "quality" and not cheapy stuff

 

I would be interested. Question will we be able to offer sugestions for new products?

 

what kind of stuff are we looking at to sell here? like things that we get made specifically for us like shirts, license plates covers ( as you stated ) or we looking at customization like springs, rims, filters etc that link to other websites?

 

It would do well...I imagine stuff like:

Tee shirts
Knit hats/baseball caps
Key chains
Decals
Coffee mugs
Etc.

We must be close to 70,000 members...I think some stuff would sell great

 

I think if parts are going to be offered maybe it should be kept to ones that "everyone " will need at some point not so much ones like wheels and tires that are kind of personal preference.

Or maybe a set of direct links to places that sell the "exact" part that will solve a given problem .
Swaybars,swaybar bushings, end links, good - better - best brake rotors come to mind.

In my opinion People came here first to research or sort out an issue they are having.
Later it becomes a "social" place and when comfortable here they want to promote through branded stuff.

 

^^ ya i like that idea..so we can post a link in the thread for whatever the problem is with a solution and a link to the part they can buy to fix that issue

 

I think the only problem with actual parts, is that unless they are bought in bulk, people will shop elsewhere.

Pretty much anything "ChevyHHR.net" or "HHR" or even "chevy" will be the stuff that sells in the forum store... other stuff that comes to mind:

seat covers
headrest covers


I would imagine most of the supporting vendors stuff would be "on the shelves".

I guess it would be risky but if the forum invested in buying popular stuff in bulk, so they could match the prices around the web, the store would do better...like the rain guards, bras, bug deflectors, chrome trim, etc...

 

Yes yes and more yes. I would buy a lot my self. It is tough to buy HHR related items. I think the big items would be the t-shirts, coffee mugs and hats. But decals and other items would be great.
