I would think you could still order an HHR from the factory the way you want it since it's still being made...

why not take real money from the insurer?
You could buy an HHR on the market used vehicles. If you can not live without HHR - a solution to the problem.

Glad to hear you are OK .
It will be regrettable if you can't find an HHR you like.
But if you like the versatility of the HHR and the gas mileage - take a look at the KIA Soul or Honda Element.
If I did not already have my HHR and planning on keeping it for a long time - I would have definitely gave either one of them a shot.

A Little Bit of "Soul"

If you go to GM.ca they have a car locator that works well. I found the exact one I wanted about an hour away, and got my local dealer to do a trade.

The Most Important thing, You Are OK! Sorry to hear about your car though. What I would do is, Go Back to the Dealer & Tell them what You Want, You are the one that has to Pay for it & You are the Owner. Tell them to Look around other dealerships & Find one You Want. They Have Access to find what you are looking for. Don't Let them Sell you something You Don't Want. Remember YOU are the customer. I even found a 2006 HHR LT 2.4 with 42,000 miles with what I consider Nice options,(remote start ect.), so IF a NEW one is what concerns you, Maybe look into a pre-owned with LOW miles instead. I am the 2nd owner of mine & I Just got mine 2 weeks ago. Just something to think about. I Don't Know your Replacement situation Completely, But I thought I would throw out some suggestions. Hope This Helps You. I Wish You Good Luck, & The Best on Which-ever your Next vehicle choice may be.

My warped mind envisions stretching a Kia Soul, and doing it up as a hearse, call it the 'Soul Reaper'.....
