out side temp guage
Well it is getting cold out here is Wa state, and I'm a little confused about the outside temp guage. Yesterday on the way to work, which is about 10 miles from home, I saw a flash on the guage panel and I think it said POSSIBLE ICE at 36 degrees. This am the outside temp read between 30 and 31 degrees all the way to work and it didn't flash ice or anything. What are the functions of the outside temp besides temp, any???

From another thread about the oil life, I've learned that the DIC uses formulas to generate its messages...perhaps the Ice possible warning employs a formula of temp, something and something? That'd be my guess to why it doesn't consistently display the message every time the temp drops
I'll say it before Snoopy does, check out the manual. It will tell you how to properly use your DIC

Maybe its just saying that ice is possible... ... after all, it probably isn't accurate anyway. It might be an indication that the temp is really colder than the DIC is telling you. I know mine tells me it is something like 95 out when I know it is more like 85-90.
