Paint Matching OEM Mudguards

Paint Matching OEM Mudguards
Hi everyone, I want to paint my factory mudguards to match the body color of my HHR. My HHR is crystal red tintcoat in color. The guards have never been mounted yet. I asked the body and paint shop manager at the dealership where I bought my HHR to paint them, but he said he could not guarantee the paint would stick and not peel. He also said he would have to sand off the HHR logos on the rear guards. My opinion is that he just didn't want to mess with such a small job. Has anyone here painted theirs and what products are recommended to get a real good bond between the paint and vinyl? I'd like to try this myself. I only want to paint the outside of the guards, not the business side close to the tires. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I did mine just takes a little tlc. And some professional paint. I have the link on my work computer I'll post it in the morn.
1.) clean denatured alcohol worked for me
2.) Plastic adhesion promoter i did 3 coats light
3.) sandable primer paint and sand till you are happy
4.) base color this is the tricky part if metalic stop short of dark enough
the clear will darken it a shade.
5.) lay the clear think I did 4 coats
6.) blow on till dry
7.) reinstall, stand back and say ........yes
do you think I should wash it I go on nasty roads sometimes.
