Just losing paint or could it be a "sandblasting" effect from road salt and sand?

nope, but only three thousand miles, I will be getting running boards soon to protect the lowers and leading edges of the fenders...I should have odered them when I bought the HHR, but I screwed up...

Nothing that major, but we just took a 1200 mile trip to and from El Paso, and when we got back I noticed several fair sized pits in the paint on the front of the hood. Where you can see the white primer underneath. But no biggie I guess, I'll just go pick up some touch up pens at the dealer this weekend.

West Texas highways are brutal for cars. Lots of sand, loose gravel and clay as hard as a rock.
