Which is one things about the panel that has dumbfounded me since I seen the first photos of one.

Awesome about the seats, though! Can't wait to see them

Personally, I would not ride back there. I definatly would not put kids back there. If an accident happened, no one would be able to see them. No outside door handles. No glass to break if door could not be opened.

Totally unsafe mod if you ask me. I bet there is a reason Chevy did not offer this option.

But it's your car.

I sure wouldn't want to have to ride in that seat with no windows, but that's just me. Wouldn't the new option for the solid rear quarter panel be a better alternative for rear seat passengers?

Most likely the exact reason. Nobody has ever offered a panel van with rear seats, either.

However, given the small size of the windows in the front, I doubt many of us would be able to escape through them in an accident too. Emergency personnel are also usually pretty good about clearing a vehicle after an accident and they'll be looking for people under seats and debris in any vehicle, panel van or not. With chopsaws and hydraulic jaws at their disposal, emergency personnel can make quick work of chopping off any roof to look for bodies.

Although extrememly rare situation, underwater. Breaking that window is the quickest and easiest way to get people out before they drown. You'd be suprised who can fit through if they have to. Fire is another reason.

I would put the seats in just for convenience sake only. I would not plan long trips or use them regularly, but for a short trip around town or dropping someone off absolutely. If there were no handles inside I would not consider it at all.

As it stands the Panel's are a 2 seater and are not very practical for people moving. The 2 storage compartments take up a ton of space and give back very little storage in return. I can get my drying towels in one and clutter in the other one. Besides blocking the rear speakers for the most part.

If I sat around worrying about all of the bad things that might happen I would never get anything done. I will know the sky is falling when it hits me in the head

I don't sit around worrying about things. I just heard an idea and know it's not a smart idea to me. Personally, I don't risk the safety of me or especially my family on what I consider not smart things to do.

I don't think I would like riding back there. I took a long trip in the back of a customized van with blinds on the windows. I hated it. What good is travelling if you can't see the view along the way?

This is the only way I could justify buying a panel. I personally would love the privacy of sitting in the back. I'm not one of those people that need to know everything that is going on around them. I would sit back there a just chill out...but that is me.

I believe that if this mod is done correctly it would be just as safe as if Chevy did it themselves....Just because there are no rear door windows, shouldn't classify it as being dangerous for passengers. I don't see it being any different than sitting as a rear passenger in some 2 door vehicles without any rear windows such as Camaro's or Trans Am's.

As far as there not being any rear door handles.....well, there are plenty of customs out there with shaved door handles that don't seem to have any issues.

just my

Good Point. Also a good spot for the mother-in-law if you don't want to be seen driving her around.
