Flower power.... The mod looks good!!!!

My parents had a new then 1975-1976 Ford panel without windows. It had cedar interior paneling, a bar and some captains chairs in the back. I don't recall any seatbelts, or airbags but do remember the shag carpeting. It had a side door that was so heavy it took two people to open it, one in and one out.
I have always liked the panels and sedan deliverys and would never of considered a HHR until the Panel came out. Now that I have one and am so impressed with it we have decided to get my mother a new LT2 Window version to replace her current car.

What type of roof rack is that and how much did you spend on it?

Holy crap!

I just realized another redundancy with the panel.. They still had side curtain airbags in the back!!

Anyway, that looks awesome dude!

Looks good. I would not consider a panel because I sometimes need the back seat. But, if the back seat option were available, I might consider it. I recall lots of vans from the 60's and 70's that did not have side windows.

It was just under $500.00. They installed 72" black slider bases that fit the roof contour perfectly and the crossbars and mounts pop right off when not in use. It was the cleanest setup I have found. The mounts are the lowest ones you can get, some are several inches higher.
Not sure on the brand without looking at the receipts, I think the tracks are from one company and the risers from Thule.

The seats look great! I think this will become a common mod for panels. I am going to start looking for a rear seat locally. I like the roof rack too

Looks fantastic and aside from the gripes of my son I would probably consider the panel with the back seats as well. I also would love sitting in the back of one...I think it would be neat. Thanks for the pics, it looks great!!

I see no problems with putting a seat in the back. I would tell the backseat passengers NOT to open the doors, because they can't see out. Driver or front passenger would OK opening the rears if it was my car. I remember when conversion vans didn't have side windows, and people rode in back of pickups because they were regular cabs. You guys worry WAAAAAAAAY too much! Congrats to the first here to do the mod. I might do this too if I find the seat locally without looking too hard. LS
