I always try to back in and this seems to be my problem too--the S10 was longer and people were impressed with my parking skills. But 9 times out of 10 after parking and thinking all is cool, I have to get back in and reposition Blackie since I'm sticking out too much in either direction! It's gotten to the point where once I put it into park, I open the door and look to make sure I am in between the lines before turning it off

The only problem I have parking this thing has to do with it being lowered. I definitely can't clear the standard concrete parking blocks in the front so I have to slowly roll up and make sure I don't get too close. Without fail, I think I'm about to hit it, but when I get out to see where I stand I'm always at least 2 feet short.

Since I quit driving a Silverado I still back in. I am so nervous about the airdam and Intercooler I really don't want to nose in. The times I have end up exactly like what you describe.

The panal has taken me a while to get used to. I usually back in so I can see when leaving. I think we forget how short these are and only need to worry about side-to-side alignment. I park pretty far out so those 1979 Ford Squire wagons can park beside me !!!

I have the same thing, That black plastic piece. So I make sure I'm far back enough in the average area. At work, I have a spot I look at out the side to make sure I am about a foot short of that concrete block--but I still have that angle

Wow. All this time, I thought it was me. Maybe the rear view mirrors should say, "Caution objects not as straight as they seem"
