I couldn't agree more. I'm looking for an old 5spd Ranger right now so I can teach my wife to drive a manual before we start looking for a Vette. I want a Zo6 but I want her to be able to drive and enjoy it too so I must teach her to drive a manual.

Note the foot note on the (O) which says on the website that the auto is required with this engine. Bottom of web page footnote 3. Sorry, it is true.

Post now!

Thanks, John
I have a 2008, 2.4ltr, 2LT with 5 speed. It was built in July and I bought it in August. I did order it, but most cars are not getting manual transmissions anymore. Most people can't or are to darn lazy to drive a stick now. I got an HHR because the Colorado was no longer available with a manual and crew cab.

That only appears on the 1LT options not the 2LT, further down it shows a 5 Speed standard on all trim levels and the auto optional. If you build a 1LT and select a 2.4 it will automatically select the auto trans, if you build a 2LT it defaults to the 5 Speed. Maybe it is just a way to get you to upgrade to a higher option package if you want a manual.

I just went into my GM Autobook to build an HHR LT and HHR Panel LT and it allow me to have a 2.4L with a 5 speed manual. No restrictions.

I went to the chevy.com website and built one with a 2.4L and 5-speed manual.
