Glad you got it to work, sounds like the tranny wasn't fully in park..do you have an automatic or manual shift?

I would then venture to guess that maybe the shifter was not totally engaged in the park position. If memory serves me right, the other person who had this problem had an automatic as well.

I've got an 5 speed, so I'm not familiar with how the automatic shifter works. Does it have a button to push to move it from park to other gears and back? If so, maybe the little button was stuck. Grasping at straws here.

This is why the reference to the other thread was given. Not only did I take it in and out of park numerous times, I even drove around the neighborhood going through all the gears.
