Well, at least this would provide a reason. Still don't like the badging though.

Hmm... I guess it's all good...to somebody. It's always taken a different mindset to own a woody. I had that mindset once, never got past a beetle or volks van and advanced to the woody though.

I'm guessing the surfboard never leaves the roof rack. Got to stay with the theme.

Exactly! Everybody's got their own theme which they are entitled to as is everybody entitled to their opinion of that theme.

Kinda like blondes and redheads.. but that's another forum. :-)

And Dayton, the song was on the alblum of the same name, released in 1962 so yeah, you prolly missed that one.

I like it, it’s not a perfect job and could use some tweaking but overall it looks real good.

A couple of things to consider:

The name "Safari" was applied to all Pontiac wagons made after 1958 so it would be appropriate for use on a phantom HHR based version. This one follows the theme from the last Safari woody wagons Pontiac made in the late '80s:

The Pacific Ocean is only about 175 miles west of Yuma, where this woodie was spotted so there's no reason to believe that the surf board is used only for a decoration. There are plenty of ho-daddies living in California that drive that far to hit some tasty waves.

Good point. I didn't realize that Yuma was that close to the big water. Surf's up!

I would think that this guy's a real Pontiac enthusiast who happened to like the HHR.

He seemed to have captured his objective. It's a nice job for what it represents.

The car really looks good, for me...I have driven nothing but chevys for 25 years. I don't like the pontiac badges.. Todd (Uma)
