Possible to increase Remote Start run time beyond 10 minutes?

Can the run time be extended to more than 10 minutes?

Not sure on this one check with your dealer. I know aftermarket ones like Viper can be programed to go as long as 60 minutes.

It's probably not what you're looking for, but if you start it and get the key into the ignition before 10 mins it'll run forever.

My dealer would not change it.... But just start it a second time... then you will need to put the key in..

It can probably be changed with the Tech II, but the 10 minute timer is set for safety in case someone runs it in their garage. No dealership would ever open themselves up to liability that GM isn't willing to risk.

Many states have laws about extended idling. This includes your remote start. Make sure your neighbors like you!

Wow!!! 10 minutes is a long time. Why set it higher? I realize it's a free country, but...

Not to mention that it's bad for the engine.... there are times when it can't be avoided (iced up windshield is one), but idling should be kept to a minimum. Yeah, I know this goes against popular belief, but it's true...

How about when you want the inside of the HHR to warm up enough so when you get in you dont brake anything When it is -30˚+ it is nice to get into a warm vehicle and 10 min just dont make it....
