Possible to increase Remote Start run time beyond 10 minutes?

You can do this twice at 10 min. So in 20 min. everything should be nice and warm.

My father in law puts a small electric heater inside their van (on a timer) when he knows that it will be brutally cold overnight and sets it to come on about half an hour before the MIL needs to drive it.

10 minutes the first start. You can press the remote start a second time while the vehicle is running (provided you have not unlocked the vehicle). This resets the timer to 10 minutes. So if you press it again after it's been running for 3 minutes, you don't go to 13 minutes, you go back to 10. There is a limit of 2 starts from the remote -- after that, there must be a key inserted in the ignition and turned to on before the remote start will work again.

My 07 Premier was supposed to have remote start. I know that you will find this hard to believe but my salesman after a two month wait arranged for a dealer transfer of the wrong car, No remote start, much distress all-around, negotiated a extra discount and took it. Don’t miss the remote start that much but I didn’t know that it only runs the car for 10 minutes (or 20 with restart), not so good for the great frozen north, next to useless actually.
Sooooooooooo one more reason for getting the SS with the 5 speed, if anymore where needed.

You can't set it for longer than 10 min, but if you repeat the procedure during the initial 10 min period, it will run for 10 more minutes from the time you repeated the procedure. Or of course you could just start it again, but like mentioned earlier, can only remote start the car twice, then have to use a key.

Man, that is a really interesting article.
It kind of parallels one in regard to California drivers (they being the highest populated state). The article said if they could get California drivers to just do the speed limit, PLUS 5 OVER, the consumers would collectively save several hundred milllion dollars annually.
Note....the article didn't indicate what would happen IF the money was saved.
