That is because both have a well two ties to each other the government and Cerberus Capital Management. Cerberus owns 51% of GMAC and since Chrysler declared bankruptcy GMAC became financing source for new vehicles.

Look, I did'nt post here to be flamed by people like you who think their $hit don't stink. I've had numerous problems with GMAC before.Yes, I am behind one month. ($353) They think they can bully me into refinancing the balance of my loan at a much higher rate or "force reposession". I have less than a year on this car and I wont go from 0% to over 16% just because I lost my job and got divorced all in the same year.

LOL never said my **** don't stink, nor o I think it. I do, however, think( or thought) it was silly to thrash GMAC for something YOU are behind on. No, you can't help you got divorced and lost your job. But that is exactly what I was asking.

0 to 16 is bad, but Discover moved my due date 4 days and I didn't notice until I was 2 days late ( I normally paid my bill 2 days before it was due ) and they bounced me to 30%. I will no longer use that card, and I've had it since 1990 or so. Sorry for your luck, but good things will ( eventually ) come from it all.

UPDATE: The HHR will be finding a new home this weekend. I have decided to give the car to my neice and allow her to take up payments. In return I will be getting her 96 Mustang V6 which I already have sold for $2500. Then I will be purchasing a low mileage 98 Toyota Extended cab 4x4 with the sale of the Mustang. I also have a buyer for my wifes Caravan which is ready to roll 100K and she has her eyes on a really clean one owner Pontiac Firebird V6.

Hey, I'm with you...don't see how it's anyone else's fault. I mean of course they have every right to take the car back and raise rates if you don't make the payment...that's what happens.

Not saying you wanted to not pay it, I understand things happen, but if you can't pay, then that's what happens.
