Problem with HHR
So I bought a 06 Chevy HHR LT 2.2 and at first when I started it it had a little metal rattle to it then it went away so I figured it was the timing chain so i opened it up and that's what one of my issues is the guide were broke and the tensioners were bad,the chain had slip in it so my next issue is.Is there a VVT system in a 06 Chevy HHR LT

Welcome
If you had it apart to find all the timing chain problems, then you should have seen all the internal parts such as camshafts.
Didn't you notice that there is no VVT on that engine ?
FYI. The 2.2 used in the 06 HHR was a one year only engine. It was changed to different versions of the Ecotec engine in later years.

This is what is found on Wikipedia:
2009: Flex-Fuel (E85) was added to the 2.2 and 2.4 engines.[15] The 2.2 engine now comes with Variable Valve Timing (VVT).

How is this relevant to a 2006 2.2 HHR?
Why post information not pertaining to the question asked?
Please answer the question asked . Then if you must add in the year of changes , but it’s still irrelevant.
