Funny , my Allstate agent just laughs when I give him a VIN. The last three have been a '55 Rolls Royce with a legitimate 5 digit VIN, a Chevy Electric S10(one of 50 survivors in private ownership), and then the SS. Needless to say he is used to overridng VIN codes. SS is way less than my Silverado or Tahoe (were) to insure.

 

When I went from my HHR 2007 LT2 to my new 2008 HHR/SS There was no change.....Pricing was the same. I also have a 2005 SSR and a 1999 Trans/Am WS6 and my homeowners is with the same company.......My ins. is very reasonable, even my homeowners , and I live in Fl. WW

 

if you are using the phone to renew/add... listen VERY closely to what the rep is saying... after adding the HHR and removing the jag... the rep was reading the policy changes back to me... the end cost wasn t what i expected so i had her read the whole thing back again... again the cost was wrong... she had added $1,000,000 worth of home personal liability to my car insurance... without asking or telling me the first two times... talked to the supv... waited a day and called customer serv. then i called the WA state insurance commissioner and filed a complaint...

in 1969 i had to drive my 63 chevy ii SS to the insurance agency to prove that it had a stright six and not a v8... 283 wasn t available until the next year

they could never match the vin on my 55 chevy... then i went to hagerty.

i have stayed with four legged cold blooded insurance co because so far they have given me a hundred time more than i have ever given me... that s what insurance is for if you live to get it

it will hardly ever pay for the car... to many people upside down on their car loans.
