Problems with Rubber on Ruuning Board

Has anyone have any problems with the protective rubber on thier running boards lifting off? I bought mine thru a dealership, and after a few washings the rubber is starting to lift. I intend to go to the dealership and see what is going on. Hopfully get something done, or get them replaced.

Hi Dave. I have seen this come up from time to tme in the forum. I think mine are about to have a few raised lumps in them as well.
From what I understand we have to reglue them whan this happens. Another choice is to change them over to the chrome or ather metal ones that some vendors Sell.

I like the black rubber look and feel. My daughter uses them. I think changing them to a showy shiney metal would not be in my best interest, so I will glue the bubber back if it ever rises.

Do a search won a couple of key words like running board rubber etc and I'll bet you will find some of the posts. So far it is not too common, but it does happen.

Like the new word, restickyfied Doesn't look too promising for the longevity of the glue holding the rubber padding then.

Courthouse Deb had this issue not long ago and discovered, in conversation with her dealer, that there are a couple of different types of running boards in service. On some the black step glues down. On others it snaps on. Apparently the type she had required that the whole running board be replaced.

Unfortunately, I have the same kind she had so eventually it looks like it will need attention.

Not necessarily. Why do people assume that if one HHR has an issue, or even a few HHRs for that matter, they too will have a problem? It does not seem to be a massive issue based on posts here.
