Programmer for key fob

Programmer for key fob
I have a 2009 LS and trying to get the key fob to work. Previous owner sd they had the ignition switch recall done, but after that, the fob didn't work again.
I put a new battery on the fob (CR2032) but that didn't help.
Has anyone tried these instead of the Dorman programmers?

Did all that when I changed the battery. Going to take the fob by A/Z and see if even works. I think they have a tester.
I think the FCC# for our HHR's is KOBGT04A. This is listed in their ad so it "should" work.

Buy an Autel AP200 obd scanner. You can program the fobs and then have a pretty descent scanner for fairly cheap. Main thing to know about this one is you get one manufacturer for free. So for example, if you use it on your HHR, you will be able to use it on any GM vehicle for free, forever. But if you decide to buy a ford you will have pay a yearly fee to be able to read ford codes, and so on, another yearly fee to read VW codes, and so on. For me, I have 4 Chevy cars in the driveway, so it was a no brainer. It will also do auto bleeds, and other things the cheapies won't do. It seems to be going for about $100 right now on amazon, but I paid about $55 or so for mine this summer, so shop around.
