The rotor problem existed on my 1998 Cavalier. Still wasn't fixed by the time I got my 2001 & 2003 Malibus, wasn't fixed when I got my 2006 HHR.

In other words, GMs OEM rotors are crap. Have been for quite some time.

That happened in Washington. Stupid county sheriff and stupid state laws. She had a cell phone and that did help locate her once the sheriff got off his rear. With Onstar her husband maybe could have located the car quicker. (less red tape).
What is Onstar's policy regarding telling "you" where "your" car is? ? Does the request have to come from or go through law enforcement ? ?

 

I would say customer/car owner calls because they know the car password. I know if you call for OnStar to unlock doors cause you left them in they car Onstar asks for password to verify it you not car theif per say. My guess is that it is the same with stolen/lost/missing cars.

 

My 06 rotors are still just fine. No shake, no shimmey.

No input on the other things, but the OnStar is useful if you tend to get lost or stranded or lock your keys in your car a lot.

I got free for 1 year like another member posted, and I only used it once. I got 30 free minutes on the phone feature as well, and I made a call just to say that I did. Other than that, I haven't used it at all. I'm pretty sure you can cancel anytime you like, but I kept it the first year. They called me about 2 weeks ago to reorder it, and I turned down the service. It's must a feeling that somebody has a constant watch on me that I really don't like.

 

My wife has ONStar on her TrailBlaser and I have it on my HHR,,,,,she got hit head-on and OnStar was right there before the dust settled.......she would never be without it..It gives me piece of mind knowing that she has it........and I like it in the08 HHR. MH

 

I've been setting my purse or a bag from a store or a bag of food on it. Where else can you set anything? Once cloth seats become readily available and affordable, I've always purchased cars with them. I've never had problems like this before. Last summer I steam-cleaned the seats in '98 Windstar and they looked beautiful. They had wear spots but no stains.
