Question about cabin air filter
#12
cant remember the name of the product i used..but its like a smoke bomb/spray. Have the car running with recirc on and all windows up and you push down the spray button and once its engaged it just keep spraying until its empty..takes about 20mins or so of running the car with it recirculating but it did the job for me :)

Thats what FaBreeze does even though the company gets Irrate if you call and point it out to them.

I just changed my filter. I found a few videos on how to do it. One says to remove the screw on the actuator rod before releasing the stop clips to lower the glove box. This is not necessary and becomes a bit of a pain to reconnect it.
To replace, leave the actuator screw in place and just hit the two stop clips and the glove box swings down plenty far enough to change the filter.

From the owners manual: (nothing about removing a screw)
To access the passenger compartment air filter:
1. Open and empty the glove box.
2. Press both glove box stops outward to let the glove
box drop open completely.
3. Pull the three tabs of the filter access door down
and open the access door downward.
4. Pull the filter out, keeping it upwards.
Install the new air filter with the AIR FLOW arrow
pointing downward. Reverse Steps 1 through 4 to
reassemble.

no it didnt mask the smell at all, i wish i could remember the name! but its like an aerosol type spray almost like Lysol spray cans, leave it in the cup holder close the doors with recirc on and let the can just empty, sucks it into all the vents and eliminates odors and bacteria etc
