QuikValve oil drain

I've been conversing via e-mail with the Quikvalve people about the fact that our 2.2 Eco-tec requires the use of the adapter. I assume the 2.4 needs it as well??? Their website does not list this engine as needing the adapter. He will update the site.

He has also offered our "group" a discounted price on the quikvalves, which would be the lowest US price, including dealers.

Don't know exactly how it would work, but I can pursue it if enough people are interested. I know a few of you have these, I have not installed mine, waiting for the adapter. I'll monitor this thread to see what the interest is.

Not sure if I would use that on my HHR, but it would be nice on snowblowers, boats and other things where my oil plug would not be in the open as the oil drain for your car is.

Is that the one with the double seal for security, but opens like fauct? If it is, I had one on my 280 Z and loved it. At first I was skeptical, because a leak would be a disaster. But the way the handle locked in place, it was safe. And it made oil changes SOOOO much easier. Back in the day, before environmental concerns, I could change my oil in under 5 minutes. I also had a remote oil filter in the Datsun that was by the radiator in the engine compartment, and the hole faced up so I could prefill it with oil. For my oil change, I would drive over a sewer, open the Quick valve, and let the oil drain out. It didnt even require any tools.

If it is like that one, then count me in on the order.

Is this the former Fumoto valve?

Yes, it's the former Fumoto valve. Solid brass, double sealed, safety latch to prevent opening. Here is a link:http://www.qwikvalve.com/item/f107.htm. May have to cut and paste.

I am also forwarding this site, in case they want to become a supporting vendor of the site.

Looks like a good idea to me, if you change oil yourself.

I'm in. I looked it up on the web site and it is the same one I used years ago. It really is GREAT. In fact, if you can include another size in the group order, I would like one to fit a small block Chevy, for the engine I am going to build.

I was looking at those months ago. I would sign up for one. Normal price looks like $25.95.

Plus $5 for an adaptor I think.
