They were painted. And done very nicely--even had "red pearl" in the white to match the factory pearl in the blue...

Don't know the cost...

Wow those look really good.. I have my own vinyl cutter so whenever I can get my HHR I might try my hand at laying some stripes down.. I was wondering what they looked like on an SS

That's a pretty cool looking striped SS (yet another one with roof rails!). I could live with the side stripes but the intersecting one on the tail doesn't work for me at all.

Note to self - I've gotta make it to that Tom's event next year.
