Rattle

Awhile back I mentioned that weird rattle that comes and goes... funny I havent heard it in awhile but about 2 weeks ago I was jumping a car and heard the most hiedious rattle under the hood... turns out this one is the airbox where the rubber grommet is missing ( front left corner ) Im going to improvise something today to see if that works.

A new one Im hearing is coming from the B Pillar somewhere around where the seatbelt goes into it... lose wire or connector inside?

Well that went smooth as silk, I also secured that plastic deflector over the radiator that rattles too. Drilled 2 holes and zip tied it to the above wire loom, done.

as far as the little missing grommet or whatever on the air box ( since I dont have any on hand... I used plastic wrap over the stud, applied silicone then another piece of plastic wrap to shape it, sat airbox on and shaped it through the hole so it will "grip" the tab, then attached everything again. once it sets up it will be solid and still be able to remove as needed ( until I find a rubber wire grommet to fit the opening/stud *** I would have used black RTV but Im out as well ****

Yup,
Havent drove it yet while it cures but soon will see if most or all the rattling stops except that pillar rattle which I think is a wire or plug rattling against the plastic inside the pillar.

Do you ever think of checking GM parts?

Try looking at this page from gmpartsgiant.com for part numbers.

One of those grommets is the subject of a research topic thread.

A lot of people don't recognize that the passenger side front bolt is supposed to be taken out before removing the airbox.
I found this out in another forum.
